Valerie Shultz
Valerie Shultz is a Graphic Designer and Promotional Products Consultant/ Distributor. Born in Mauritius and raised in New Jersey. When other girls were hanging with friends on weekends, Valerie spent her free time tagging along with her dad while he worked as a pressman. High school wasn’t much different. There she spent most of my free time in the art department, planning a school mural or teaching art to grade school kids.
As a fine artist, her exposure to the commercial art industry was a dream come true. “That was when I knew what I wanted to be, a graphic designer!”, she says. At the age of 16, she started her first job as a layout artist for the local paper in town, The South Bergenite. From there a messenger, delivering ad copy to NYC ad agencies, and a photo stylist in New York City as she was getting her degree at F.I.T.
Taking on many roles, from the bottom to the top, after graduation helped shape Valerie’s knowledge. Getting to know all facets of the design and print industry, has proven to be valuable assets. It was not until Valerie took a design position with a promotional product distributor, that she learned a lot about promotional product print industry and promotional product sales.
Having built a family by this time and worked the gamut of clients in both roles. Valerie’s needed a job that was flexible, so she could be there for her family. Her greatest passion and expertise are in the world of brand identity design and promotion. Here we go…armed with an Apple Computer, two clients and a dream, Insite Graphics was born in 1997. Valerie’s goal to combine business and marketing perspectives with her design background have proven to be a successful combination for her clients and their audiences..
